Speeders, TIEs, Walkers, and a Bucket of Bolts: Behind the Scenes of Celebration Europe’s Fan-Made Props!

A new Celebration is just ahead of us and next to all the highly-anticipated panels, shows, and collectibles…there will be fan-made props!

For the first time at a Celebration, two dedicated builder teams have joined forces for the exclusive display of props at the Star Wars Show LIVE! set! As a result of this collaboration, we’ve created a new international prop builder community: Got Props United, a place where large-scale prop builders from all over the world will join in to build even more impressive fan-made props.

The German Project X-1 Team and the Belgian Star Wars prop crew (BCD) are in full preparations for the show. Our main target: a Force Awakens display. But before Celebration kicks off, we’d like to invite you on a behind-the-scenes tour of the sets that will be shown at Celebration Europe!

Building a TIE…

A masterpiece of construction by the German Project X-1 builders! Sophisticated engineering and heavy structured parts are the only way to make such a tall item possible. This is the team’s third TIE — soon they’ll have their own fleet!

Next to the TFA TIE will be the X-1 Vader TIE and a classic fighter from A New Hope. We almost can call those guys the true Sienar Fleet Systems builders!

Building an ATAT…

We’ll also feature the Belgian-built AT-AT walker, which was signed by George Lucas at a previous Celebration.

Building Rey’s speeder…

Rey’s speeder will be part of the stage display; the prop will be open for visitors of the show to take pictures in front of or on the bike!

But there’s more…

…Building a New-Look Hunk of Junk!

The completely new-styled Millennium Falcon, which is still under construction as we speak, is coming to Celebration Europe!

Some insights into our process: Casts were made from the original materials to create authentic parts…intense research to make it as authentic as possible…detailed foam works and fabrics for the chess corner seats…and plenty of weathering! This new set, based on the ship’s appearance in The Force Awakens, is only the first stage of the Falcon. The next building stage might be ready for Orlando…?

For now, we hope you’ll come see our props at the Star Wars Show LIVE! set! See you there!
